Bakken Pipeline Protest Actions

Protesters gathered at City Hall in Pilot Mound, Iowa, for training and preparation for an action at the Bakken construction staging area adjacent to the Boone County fairgrounds. The action was organized by Bold Iowa, Catholic Workers House, and Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement, all based in Des Moines.

Three events: Five candidates (all Democrats) have agreed to discuss with 1st Congressional District constituents their views of issues related to climate change; the Linn County Democratic Central Committee hosts four of the five candidates for a forum; and the Phoenix Club hosts all five candidates for presentations.
